Îles de la Madeleine, February 10, 2021 - The Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine team officially announces the closing of its "Make your choice!" contest and is very pleased with the results.
Every year, Internet users vote to choose which picture will be featured on the front page of the official Îles de la Madeleine tourist Guide. This contest is a great way to promote our precious archipelago to island lovers or to clients who know little or nothing about the destination.
Every year, the pictures show the island's cachet and this year, the photos represented the Magdalen Islands according to the seasons. Among the available choices, there was a couple hiking on the Butte ronde with a view of Cape Alright, an aerial view of Sandy Hook Beach, the cliffs of Belle Anse, the Réserve naturelle des Demoiselles as well as the snowy Cape Alright lighthouse.
With 34% of the compiled votes, the choice for the 2021-2022 edition, as designated by the Internet users, is the cliffs of La Belle Anse and proves that these cliffs make one dream if one refers to the image of the previous edition which illustrated a pink sunrise at the edge of the cliffs. Moreover, this year, the anglophone tourist guide will have its own cover page and it will be the photo of the Réserve naturelle des Demoiselles.
This year, 9391 people voted for their favorite image.
In addition, the contest resulted in some 1051 new subscribers to the destination's newsletter. Please note that the contest lasts only ten days.
Following the draw, the winner of the contest, who receives a copy of the book "Exotiques Îles-de-la-Madeleine" by photographer George Fischer, is Johanne Synnott of Gaspé, Quebec. Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine would like to thank all contest participants for their interest in the destination.
