The Wild Gourmet Spree ended in style on June 30 at the Auberge La Salicorne with its evening entitled “Break out of your shell.”
In total, more than 600 foodies, Madelinots and visitors enjoyed the Wild Gourmet Spree experience at one or many participating restaurants.
The partnership between Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine, Le Bon goût frais des Îles de la Madeleine and Arrimage provided a great exposure on social media. The stories posted on Instagram earned more than 31,500 hits, which adds up to the 16,240 people or so reached on Facebook through the promotion of the event.
The Wild Gourmet Spree is a great opportunity for the businesses involved to create bold partnerships. For instance, the microbrewery À l'abri de la Tempête launched its brand-new beer—La Palabre d'un homme à la mer—during the event held at the Bistro Plongée Alpha. This fine example of collaboration led to a feature story broadcast by Radio-Canada.
Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine would like to thank the many partners who have turned the 8th edition of the Wild Gourmet Spree into a great success story. About thirty restaurants, producers and artists lifted each other up and used all of their skills to create unique events.
About the Wild Gourmet Spree
To the delight of all foodies, restaurants, producers and artists combine their creative vision to showcase local talents during a series of thematic events held early in the summer. The creation of the Wild Gourmet Spree is not fortuitous; it follows the initiative entitled “Artisans à table!”—the brainchild of Patrick Leblond, potter, where a dozen or so artisans created useful objects inspired by and designed for local products. Over the years, the Wild Gourmet Spree has become the Islands' “must-attend” gourmet happening.
