In cooperation with Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine and L'Île Imagin'air, the Iles de la Madeleine Tourism Cluster is currently producing a video that is designed to position the Nature experience offered on the archipelago. This is a follow-up to projects initiated in 2012 to develop the branding of enterprises and of the tourism destination relative to culinary and cultural tourism. Seven enterprises have joined in on a project that is also supported by the CLD of Îles-de-la-Madeleine and the Ministère des Finances et de l'Économie of Québec.
Participating enterprises have been targeted for the distinctive quality experiences they offer to the visitors and for their potential attractiveness on the national and international levels. Current participants are:
The video's concept includes an important emotional dimension sustained by visuals of enjoyable moments from a range of outdoor activities and adventures on an archipelago where the sea is omnipresent. Shot in high definition, the bright, colourful pictures will showcase unique tourism activities offered by certified providers whose common trait is excellence. The video will include breathtaking aerial sequences and it will highlight activities that visitors can practice individually, such as sea kayaking, jogging and bird watching.
This project contributes to the achievement of objectives set out in the 2012-2017 action plan for the Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine Recreational Tourism Cluster, in particular "To showcase regional specificities, with a view to lengthen the season." and "To foster cooperation between enterprises for the development of common projects that can promote the cluster and make it stronger." As well, the project offers an opportunity to support enterprise managers in the use and optimisation of the social media and other marketing tools available through the Internet.
This initiative will undoubtedly be recorded as a "master stroke" for this sector of the regional tourism industry. The launch of the video on the Internet is scheduled for the spring of 2014. Pictures from shooting sessions are available on Facebook:
