Tourisme Îles of the Madeleine has recently put on line a new section on Sustainable Tourism. It includes the fundamental principles of the tourism development policy which constitutes the backdrop for the harmonious development of the island's tourism industry. This section also comprises information on the fragile environment of the archipelago, drinking water management, the sorting of waste and much more. The contents were developed in collaboration with the service of public works of the Municipality and Attention Fragîles.

This project falls under a succession of actions aiming to create awareness amongst visitors on the particularities of our insular environment. It is also a logical resultant of Tourisme Îles de la Madeleine's participation at the International symposium on sustainable tourism development which took place in Quebec in February 2009.
