There never was any doubt - for Isoline, creation was the right and only path to follow. As a kid, armed with crayons, she populated every piece of passing paper with her drawings. Modelling clay of every colour was transformed into cubes, spheres, characters and imaginary worlds. Unaware of what the future had in store, she didn't know yet of the new and fabulous material that would one day make her a glass blower.
She's 22 years old when she first set foot on the Îles de la Madeleine. Getting off the plane, she's taken over by that warm and fuzzy feeling, and right there on the spot, she knows that she landed at the right place. She wasn't wrong since some twenty years later, she's still here.
Quiet and solitary, she's in her element when surrounded by music with the company of her turtledoves flying freely around the workshop. She cruises in a universe of her own, a land made to measure and ruled by colors and whimsies.
Isoline doesn't like the emptiness; she drowns it in fantastic shapes and popping colors to create something bold, and whole, and full of life. It's become her signature style - a cartoonish world with flourishes aplenty, hints of freedom and a dash of sweet madness.
Her production stages follow the seasons. There's a time to draw and create new templates, and then comes the delicate period where the furnace is rekindled. The artist blows and fuses glass into delirious cups, sleek spheres filled with frozen waves, and other eclectic enchantments that'll fill her boutique with life and joy.
Amongst her creations, Isoline gives the impression that she'll never grow old. No one would be surprised to learn of a Fountain of Youth, hidden among the many marvels she's given life to, a glimpse into the timeless existence of the curious minds.
