Two island lovers who are completely crazy about the Islands!

Îles de la Madeleine, lagoon, water, mound, colored houses,

Hello dear readers! We are Guillaume and Stéphanie. We've been living in the Îles de la Madeleine for a little over a year now, and the both of us are passionate about adventures, discoveries and gastronomy.

We first decided to live on the not-so-little Islands for work, but we also made the move so we could enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience. And up until now, we can't complain! As we grew up in Trois-Rivières (Guillaume) and Montréal (Stéphanie), it is a pretty big change of scenery.

Having already spent a few weeks on the Islands, Guillaume had already thought about moving here. But it is only four years later, in 2016, that we were given a job opportunity allowing us to move in for good! Without ever setting foot in the Islands' fine sand, Stéphanie decided to jump in and come along, even though she had her doubts.

Before our big move, Stéphanie was a little scared to get bored, so we started a blog to share our numerous adventures. Our last blog post was published over four months ago, so needless to say that "getting bored on the Islands" is not a thing! Regardless, the experience brings us to step back and give a closer look at all the little things that make life on the Islands so unique. Because as new Madelinots, we still have a lot to learn about the history of the Îles de la Madeleine, its flavours, its language and — especially — its weather which still surprises useach season!

Îles de la Madeleine, winter, snow, wind, road, houses,   îles de la Madeleine, pink sunset, house, dog, Havre-aux-Maisons  Îles de la Madeleine, landscape, boots, Entry Island, sea, grass

Unlike us, our fellow bloggers have already spent a few years on the Islands, which is exactly what will characterize our upcoming blog posts. We want to offer a whole new perspective on the amazing society that surrounds us, with a little satirical touch once in a while. Since we both like great food, we will introduce you to the culinary diversity of the Islands, because believe it or not, there is more to it than lobsters!

So here we are, a little over a year after our big move, two island lovers who are completely #fousdesiles!

Born on the “mainland” and residents of the Îles de la Madeleine since a little over a year, the two of us are passionate about adventures, discoveries and gastronomy. It didn't take long for us to become two island lovers who are completely #fousdesiles!
